Who We Are
At Stochastic Parrot Publishing, we are exploring the development of AI generated content by the three frontier models from Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini) and OpenAI (ChatGPT).
As the generative AI models become ever more capable, it is harder to distinguish what is human-only content, what is machine-assisted, and what is machine-led.
The content we share with our readers will, by definition, be machine-led, but 'human inspired' (at least for now).
We encourage you to explore the content we share with an open mind and if you have questions, suggestions or topics you would like us to consider, please do get in touch.

Why This Name?
"Stochastic parrot" comes from a 2021 paper by Emily Bender, Timnit Gebru, and colleagues, critiquing large language models as sophisticated pattern-matchers that recombine training data without true understanding—like a parrot mimicking speech without comprehension. We've adopted this term not to dismiss the critique, but to engage with it honestly.
The name is intentionally provocative. It acknowledges a legitimate question: can these systems produce genuinely valuable content, or are they merely generating plausible-sounding text? Our answer: let's find out through transparent experimentation.
